How it works

Choose a quality and select your images. Each one is re-saved as efficiently as possible, and if a file would come out bigger than it went in, you get the original back without its hidden metadata.

    Select your images

JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 50 MB each.

  2. 02

Adjust the quality if you like

80% suits most photos. Lower saves more space; higher keeps more detail.

See how much each file shrank, compare before and after, and save them all as one ZIP.

Quality or a size limit

This page compresses by quality, which is best when you just want smaller files. If a website or form names a maximum size, open Settings and choose Max size instead, or use a page such as Compress image to 100 KB.

PNG and screenshots

Screenshots and graphics are often PNGs. When a PNG must get smaller, the tool reduces its colours carefully, which keeps text crisp. Photos saved as PNG usually shrink far more as JPG; switch the format in Settings.

Questions people ask

What quality should I choose?

80% is a good default for photos. For images that will be printed or zoomed, use 90%. For thumbnails, 60 to 70% is usually fine.

Why did one file not get smaller?

Some files are already well compressed. Rather than make them bigger, the tool keeps the original image and only removes hidden metadata.

Does compressing remove location data?

Yes, by default. Location, camera and editing details are removed from every saved file. You can turn this off under More options.

Is there a file limit?

Each file can be up to 50 MB and up to 50 megapixels. You can add up to 50 files at a time on a computer.
