How it works
DPI is a label inside the file that says how large it should print. This tool rewrites that label in JPG and PNG files without re-saving the image, so nothing is lost.
- 01
Choose the DPI
The default is 300. Pick another value in Settings.
- 02
Select your images
JPG and PNG files keep their exact pixels. Other formats are converted to JPG.
- 03
Download
Each result shows the DPI it now carries.
DPI does not change the pixels
A 1200 × 1800 pixel photo looks the same on screen at 72 DPI or at 300 DPI; only the printed size changes. If a form asks for a size in cm at a certain DPI, use Resize in cm instead, which sets both.
Questions people ask
Does changing DPI reduce quality?
No. For JPG and PNG the image data is copied exactly; only the DPI value in the file header changes.
Why does a form ask for 200 or 300 DPI?
Some portals read the DPI to check that a scan was made at a good resolution. Setting it here makes the file report the value the form expects.
Does WebP store DPI?
Not in a standard way, so choose JPG or PNG when a form checks DPI.
