Privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
The short version: your images are processed on your device and never uploaded by our code. We collect technical information about how the tools are used, never the images themselves or anything that identifies you.
Your images
Resizing, compressing and converting happen in your browser. We do not receive, store or see your images, thumbnails or file names.
What we collect
- About each image: its format, declared file type, size in bytes, width and height, orientation, colour profile, bit depth, transparency, whether it is animated, its DPI, an estimate of its JPEG quality, the camera make and model and editing software named inside it, and whether it contained EXIF or location tags (yes or no only).
- About what the tool did: your settings, the output size and dimensions, the quality used, which rules passed, processing times and any errors.
- About your visit: pages viewed, the tools and buttons you used, browser, operating system, device type and model, screen size, language, connection type, country (worked out from the connection, without storing your IP address), the referring site and campaign tags.
What we never collect
Image pixels, thumbnails or fingerprints of images; file names; GPS coordinates; the date and time a photo was taken; camera or lens serial numbers; owner, artist, copyright or comment fields; and maker notes.
Who processes the data
- Google Analytics, when enabled, for page and event statistics.
- Our own statistics service, hosted on Cloudflare, for the technical image details above.
- Google AdSense, when enabled, to show ads. Google may use cookies to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where the law and your choices allow. Exam pages show non-personalised ads.
Your choices
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask before any analytics run. Elsewhere analytics are on by default and you can turn them off at any time with Privacy choices at the bottom of every page. Browser settings and ad blockers also limit what is collected.
How long we keep it
Detailed statistics are kept for up to 13 months, then only totals remain. Google Analytics keeps event data for up to 14 months.
Children
Many people preparing exam applications are under 18. We do not ask for personal details, and we do not knowingly build profiles of children. Ads on exam pages are not personalised.
Contact and grievances
Questions, requests or complaints: hello@anekvio.com. Grievance officer: to be named before launch. We reply within 3 working days and resolve grievances within the time the law allows.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
