PNG is ideal for graphics but heavy for photos and scans. Converting to JPG usually cuts the file size several times over, which helps when a form only accepts JPG.

When to keep PNG
Keep logos, icons and screenshots with sharp text as PNG. For photos and scanned documents, JPG is the better choice.
Questions people ask
What happens to transparency?
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white by default. You can choose another colour under More options.
Can I set a size limit?
Yes. Open Settings and choose Max size.
